Compares two objects, asking children to guess which is heavier or lighter, then shows the objects on a balance.

Explains how to use a balance to compare the weight of two objects, and also how to use cubes as units of measurement.
Measuring height:
Explains and demonstrates how to measure height using cubes, asking children to predict how many cubes.
Using suitable objects for measuring:
Looks at how we can use different units of measurement, and explains how to measure accurately using them.
Measuring with hand spans:
Explains how to use hand spans to measure suitable objects. (Also included - a printable handspan sheet)
Estimate height with cubes:
Looks at different animals and asks the children to estimate how many cubes they will need to build a tower to the same height.
