Counting on at the pet shop:
Shows a number of animals, then adds on more as they arrive at the pet shop.
Counting on from the biggest number:
Visually demonstrates how to count on from the biggest number with counters, using a number line, plus examples for the children to work out.
Counting on the bus:
Shows different numbers of people on the bus, and asks and demonstrates how many will there be if 1 more gets on.
Counting on the double decker:
Shows 8 people getting on a double decker bus, with different numbers on the lower and upper deck. It then demonstrates the corresponding number sentence.
Counting on with pencils:
Shows a paper bag, and states how many pencils there are inside. Then more are added, for the children to work out how many.
Introduction to number sentences:
Explains how to write down number sentences, using pictures for support.
Addition as combining 2 sets
: Demonstrates 2 sets of objects coming together, showing how to form a number sentence.
Addition can be done in any order
: Asks the children to work out the sum of 2 sets of counters, then corresponding number sentences, to see which way is the easiest.

: Shows the animals with the number sentences.

Problem solving questions using the context of money in the toy shop. (e.g. Which toy is the cheapest; Which toy costs more etc.)

Number sentences for the children to work out.
